Christmas on Plough Green, Old Malden

We’re thrilled to invite you to this year’s Community Christmas Celebration on Plough Green — a joyful afternoon of festive cheer, local spirit, and twinkling lights.

A Christmas Gift Market 2:30pm – 6:30pm

Browse a delightful range of stalls offering handmade gifts, festive treats, cakes, jewellery, and stocking fillers — perfect for finding that special something for someone you love.

Food and drink stalls – All afternoon

We are offering a wide range of food and beverages –  Hot drink and pastries from Hooky Street Coffee Co, Korean street food from Seoul Food, Crepes, Pizza, local beer from Anomaly Brewery and warming mulled wine in the Community Tent. The Miller & Carter bar and restaurant is open all afternoon, so a chance to warm up and have a sit down.

Live Music & Entertainment – All afternoon
Our Music Tent will be buzzing with performances from local choirs, acoustic sets, and a heart warming Christmas sing-along to bring everyone together when we light up the tree.

Santa Tent – 2:30pm – 5:30pm
Father Christmas and his helpers will be welcoming children throughout the afternoon — with festive magic and a few surprises. We operate a simple queuing system for parents with their children. Please bear with us, as this will get busy. We recommend arriving early.

Friends of Manor Park Community Tent – 2:30 – 6:30pm
Warm up with mulled wine, seasonal refreshments, and good company in our Community Tent — a cosy corner for conversation and celebration.

Christmas Tree Lights Switch-on and Sing-Along 5:30pm – 6:30pm

We will celebrate the switching on of the lights on our Community Christmas Tree with a festive sing-along led by local ukulele band – The Guitar and Ukulele Session. The Deputy Mayor will help us celebrate community service by introducing Louise Dibble and Alison Eggitt, who have dedicated themselves to providing many years of leadership of our local scouting group – 1st Old Malden. In recognition of their service and contribution, Louise and Alison will have the honour of switching on our lights. The big moment will happen at about 6pm – so wrap up warm, bring your voices, and come be part of something special.

We’ve also had a grant from the Old Malden Ward Councillors – from their dedicated ward fund. We’ve had support from The Plough Bakery, Miller and Carter, Peeps Pizza, Ascot Race Course, to name but a few.

We’re especially looking for volunteers to help with set-up, stewarding, and pack-down — including the installation of our large Christmas tree on Saturday 6th December. If you can lend a hand, we’d love to hear from you.

This event is run by volunteers, for the community. While we’re not aiming to make a profit, any surplus will be reinvested into our ongoing work to improve Manor Park — helping it thrive as a space for everyone.
